Muted & Removed
Mute feeds to hide their articles without unsubscribing, and restore feeds removed by a plan change or an import.
Mute a feed
Muting hides a feed's articles without unsubscribing. New articles still arrive, but they stay out of your feeds, unread counts, and At a Glance. Nothing is deleted, and the feed still counts toward how many you can follow.
Muted feeds appear dimmed in the sidebar and stay listed in Organization, so you can always get back to them.
Right-click (long press on mobile) a feed in the sidebar and pick Mute feed or Unmute feed. Folders have Mute all feeds in the same menu. You can also mute from the Feeds, Newsletters, and Podcasts pages in Organization.
Unmuting is instant. Articles that arrived while the feed was muted come back unread. See Unread retention for details.
Not sure whether to mute or unsubscribe? Unsubscribing removes the feed and its articles. Muting keeps everything and is reversible.
Hide muted feeds
Turn on Hide Muted Feeds in Settings → Preferences to keep muted feeds out of the sidebar. They stay visible in Organization. See Customization for details.
Removed feeds
When a plan change or an import leaves you with more feeds than you have room for, Glanced moves the newest ones to Organization → Removed. You'll get a notice when it happens. Imports warn you first.
Filter by feeds, newsletters, or podcasts, and click Restore on a row to bring it back. The feed comes back with its recent articles, along with anything you saved, noted, or tagged from it. A newsletter keeps its email address. You'll need a free spot, so you may have to remove something else.
